    Description

Overview: In Inventory the libraries can choose whether to maintain holdings records directly in Inventory, or choose to maintain the holdings record in MARC Format for Holdings (MFHD) - https://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/. If maintaining the holdings record in MARC, then the underlying MFHD record is stored in SRS, and the MFHD records are being maintained in MARCcat (potentially also quickMARC - TBD).

When established linking between a Holdings record in Inventory to a holdings source record in MARC Format for Holdings (MFHD) record in the Source Record Storage (SRS), then edit of given meta elements in the Holdings record need to be blocked (frozen), when data is maintained as a MFHD record in MARCcat.

In the holdings record there will be an element Metadata source. This element is auto-populated with the specific source of the record in the SRS, if applicable. For records with underlying MARC Holdings in SRS, source will be MARC

In order to establish the data flow Inventory, holdings <> SRS, MFHD <> MARCcat, MFHD we need to implement a new element in the holdings record to define the source of the holdings record (source=FOLIO, or source=MARC)
