Export Inventory Instances to other non-MARC formats

    Description

      Inventory instance records will need to be exported into the output format defined by the user needs. If the user requests MARC output format and the instance record has an associated MARC Bib record in SRS, then underlying SRS record will be exported. If there is no underlying record available, a simple MARC Bib record record will be generated following defined mapping (UXPROD-1397).

      The supported formats should Include:

      • PICA +
      • PICA XML
      • Delimited (this would require a very specific mapping profile)

      As discussed in Export use cases the most common formats are MARC and delimited files so MARC21 and delimited formats would be the bare minimum.

      Note: Data manipulation (included fields, mappings) will be a part of the Metadata Export Mapping Profile (UXPROD-2153) Combining instance data with holdings and items will be a part of the Metadata Export Job Profile (UXPROD-2154)
