Purpose: Search by barcode. Implement search criteria, in the drop down menu in the Search box for Basic search functionality.

Searching by item barcode is very important for us since it is the only direct way of identifying and accessing the metadata record (item, holding, instance) corresponding to a physical item.
Many of our workflows – rearranging our collections, weeding, cataloging, reshelving – involve accessing the associated metadata record by scanning the barcode of the physical item.
