Description
Purpose: To get UX guidance on how users should "drill down" into a detail record from a list.
Background:
- The Users and Items apps allow you to access the detail record by clicking anywhere in the search result row
- This works great for those apps, HOWEVER, the SMEs are requesting that search results contain data that links you off to other places. So, for example, in the Loans page (attached) we have item barcode link you off to the item record, the Fees link you off to a page with all the associated fees etc.
- So far we have two lists that need to have linkable data in them: Requests, Loans and Fees/Fines. I am sure there will be more.
- Our current designs have access to Loan details and Fee/Fine Details via an item in the "actions menu" on the row
- Requests, on the other hand, allow drilling down by just clicking the row
- So we have some inconsistency here
- Is it okay that they are inconsistent? If not, how do we bring inline?
Reference:
- This is a wireframe for the Requests search page. The Title, Requester Barcode and Item Barcode will all need to be links to other places. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9bjq6ollrbruclz/1_RequestsSearch.png?dl=0
