Primary Currency Setting

Purpose: Allows tenant to define the primary currency used by their tenant.
Important Note: This user story only addresses the new Primary currency field--the existing Locale and Time zone fields are ignored.

SCENARIOS

1. Scenario

• Given Language & localization selected from Settings > Tenant (was Settings > Organization)
• When selected for first time
• Then display Language & localization page as shown in attached mock-up 1-currency.png, with default of US Dollar (USD) selected for Primary currency

2. Scenario

• Given Language & localization selected from Settings > Tenant (was Settings > Organization)
• When selected after Primary currency set for tenant
• Then display Language & localization page as shown in attached mock-up 4-currency-save.png, with Primary currency for tenant from database

3. Scenario

• Given Language & localization page
• When Primary currency drop-down is selected
• Then display currencies from attached Currency-Table.xlsx, in this format: <Currency-Description> " " <Currency-Alphabetic-Code) as shown in attached mock-up 2-currency-dropdown.png (see Zak Burke for help with the table as he is the dev who worked on Locale and Time zone; it is important that the Currency Alphabetic Code be stored separate because it will be used separately (see UIU-995 for background info)
• IMPORTANT NOTE: After writing this User Story, Holly created STCOM-531 to ask that a component be created for a drop-down list of currencies. This is because Acquisitions needs a drop-down list too. John Coburn has asked that UNAM create the component. See STCOM-531 for details.

4. Scenario

• Given Language & localization page
• When different Primary currency is selected from drop-down (as shown in attached mock-up 3-currency-dropdown-change.png)
• Then update database with new Primary currency and display newly selected option as Primary currency

DESCRIPTION

The Language & localization settings need to be updated to include a Primary currency setting. Right now the settings are available at Settings > Organization > Language & localization, but they are moving to Settings > Tenant > Language & localization.

The Primary currency drop-down list should be built from the attached spreadsheet Currency-Table.xlsx. There are 156 currencies in total. The two fields in the table are joined together for display in the drop-down list, but the Currency Alphabetic Code is used separately and must be kept in the table by itself. (If you need help in building the table, please contact Zak Burke. He did the original work on the Locale and Time zone settings. (See UIU-995 for some background info.))

IMPORTANT NOTE: After writing this User Story, Holly created STCOM-531 to ask that a component be created for a drop-down list of currencies. This is because Acquisitions needs a drop-down list too. John Coburn has asked that UNAM create the component. See STCOM-531 for details.

The Primary currency options should be presented in the drop-down list as follows:

For example:

US Dollar (USD)
Mexican Peso (MXN)

The default when FOLIO is first brought up is US Dollar (USD) (as shown in attached mock-up 1-currency.png)
The selected currency should have a checkmark to the left of it in the drop-down list (as shown in attached mock-ups 2-currency-dropdown.png and 3-currency-dropdown-change.png)
The currencies listed in the drop-down list should be sorted in alphabetic order by Currency Description (as shown in attached mock-ups 2-currency-dropdown.png and 3-currency-dropdown-change.png)
