Stabilize loan-renewals test

It seems that the loan-renewals test is sensitive to response time characteristics on the computer(s) running the tests/platform.

Specifically, rasmuswoelk has problems making it pass, and some of the errors he's having more consistently, I also see occasionally on my system.

Difficult to troubleshoot if you cannot reproduce the errors consistently but we have to try.
