Duplicate Request Record

    XMLWordPrintable

    Details

      Description

      User story:

      • As a user who wants to recreate a closed request record
        • Maybe the request expired but the requester suddenly showed up at the circ desk
        • Maybe someone had an item on short term loan and needs to return it but wants to request it so they can have it again in the morning
      • I want to be able to clone/duplicate an existing request record as a starting point
      • So I don't need to manually enter all the request details

      Scenarios:

      1. Scenario
        • Given the view mode of Request A
        • When displayed
        • Then a "duplicate" icon and option should appear in the pane header dropdown (similar to on the Instance record in Inventory)
      2. Scenario
        • Given the duplication option on Request A
        • When clicked
        • Then the Create request form should be displayed and all fields should be populated with the data from Request A
      3. Scenario
        • Given I have duplicated Request A to create Request B
        • When Request B is saved
        • Then the preview pane for Request B should display

NOTE: It is not expected that duplicated requests will go to the top of the queue or anything. They will be treated according to the same first in first out logic we apply to requests as a whole
