HRID handling in MARC Auth App for MARC Authority records

      Closed as Won't Do 20 Sept 2021

      Need to confirm where the sequential number generator for authorities will live; per Data Import subgroup, the preference is Settings/MARC Auth

      • 001s cannot be manually added/edited in MARC Auth
      • If newly-created MARC record (not coming from SRS)
        • Assign next FOLIO HRID automatically based on the Authority sequential number generator in MARC Auth and the starting number in Settings
        • Assign the Authority prefix based on the optional prefix defined in Settings
        • Once FOLIO HRID is assigned, put into 001 field of the MARC Auth and SRS records
      • Once assigned, HRID is not editable
      • NOTES:
        • SRS handling of HRIDs described in MODSOURMAN-205
        • No handling of Authority HRIDs in Inventory
