Description
Overview:
mod-remote-storage (v1.0.3) crashes very frequently in Bugfest, probably due to memory usage. Either the memory allocated for the container is too low or there are memory leaks. In the attached memory graph, each dip corresponds to a restart of the containers, and containers restarted either due to an error or memory problem. After each restart the memory level seems to be bounced back up to 120% (20% over the soft 360MB memory limit allocation).
This ticket is to answer the following questions:
1. What is the recommended allocation for this module?
2. How much memory does each job/request to it consume?
3. ls the memory that was used to process the request released afterward?
Approach:
One possible approach is to analyze the heap dump. Bugfest's heap dump can be provided offline because it's too big to attach here.
Acceptance criteria:
The cause(s) of frequent crashes are understood. Questions above are answered.
