SRM investigation

Purpose/Overview:
Study SRM implementation details to understand how MARC record updates are supported and what should be added to handle new MARC record creation.

There is a document which describes MARC record modification process:
Approach to update SRS MARC Records and corresponding inventory Instances
It can be used as a starting point

Since the process involves interaction with Inventory, additional task might be needed to cover Inventory part.

Requirements/Scope:

• understand the process of MARC record modification by SRM
• design the flow to support new MARC record creation
• document the design

Acceptance criteria:

• design document is prepared
• design document is reviewed and approved by stakeholders
