Description

Federations re-publish their metadata regularly. The SP should re-download the metadata periodically to check for updates to the IdP metadata, and install the new IdP metadata when there is an update.

Recommended practice for downloading metadata may vary between federations, so should be configurable. For example, InCommon recommends downloading as least once per day.
