Libraries need to track licenses (or the legal documentation that outlines access duration and rules for how their users may use resources). Currently there is a licenses app (mod-licenses/ui-licenses) under development by another Folio development team. To support license app development, we want to research EBSCO ResourceIQ - License API capabilities to ensure we support key functionality in Folio.
Spike should answer the following questions
- Any additional configuration needed to integrate with this api?
- Can you attach a license to an eholdings provider/package/title+package record? IF so, how?
- If you attach a license at the provider level, is that license returned in a package response? IOW - is there any inheritance?
- Must a package be selected to attach a license?
- Can you attach a license to a non-eholdings record? IF so, how?
- How flexible is the API to add selections to the Status field?
- How flexible is the API to add custom defined fields? Can it be done per tenant?
- Can the API support the related designs included in this ppt https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1_QXFxBTEDIeTlR1QRR5Cjhx3-NKE1L8IbDtEvbDhpHQ/edit#slide=id.g4636ba76ee_0_6?
