      Description

Purpose/Overview: Currently, if libraries receive OCLC MARC records from GOBI, the only viable matchpoint on instance records created at point of order is ISBN. However, due to potential ISBN duplication, a truly unique matchpoint is required. The GOBI order key meets this requirement. It is contained both in the initial API response from GOBI (mapped to vendor reference number) and in the OCLC records (typically in an 024$a). Currently, this must be manually added to the instance record if desired as a matchpoint, creating additional manual work for staff.

      Requirements/Scope:

      1. Map the GOBI order key to both vendor reference number and product ID
        • Need to confirm the product ID type that will be assigned
      2. Ensure that the value in Product ID populates on the instance record created at point of order.

NOTE MODDATAIMP-399 will be worked on in Lotus (by Folijet), and may provide an alternative solution for this issue
