Description
Purpose: To create a mechanism to generate and send text files on a scheduled basis.
Story: As a FOLIO administrator, I will configure certain processes to run on a defined schedule. One example is daily generation of fees/fines files and SFTP'ing them to a bursar's office.
Description:
FOLIO administrators will need to be able to schedule regular file exports at a defined interval. The interface and logs should provide cues that the export has started, completed, and/or had errors.
Parameters:
Frequency: once, recurring every
Time unit: minutes, hours, days, weeks, months
Scenarios:
- Scenario
- It is 4:00 AM, time to run the bursar feed. An administrator has set the scheduling module to run the bursar job every day at 4:00 AM. A scheduled process queries FOLIO for charges / credits to transfer to the bursar, then generates charge and credit files with the given file naming conventions. A subsequent process sends the files to a central SFTP site for Bursar processing.
The FOLIO interface provides the administrator with feedback as to the success or failure of jobs. Reasons for failure can include connection problems, system timeouts, data errors that are unacceptable to the receiving system, etc.
