Passing long strings as message for Throwable causes application to hang

Overview:
Steps to Reproduce:

1. Log into de-14 stage folio environment (Iris release)
2. Go to eUsage, UDP SpringerLink
3. Requested reports lists DR, PR and TR
4. The harvester was started (several times)

Expected Results:

The statistics table should show three rows, one for each report type.

Actual Results:

Only DR and PR are listed. There are no entries for TR reports, not even failed ones.
