Description
Update the default mapping for MARC 336$a and 336$b. See examples in attached MARC file and Word document
Currently, the first 336$b code is used to look up and assign the Instance Type ID, which populates the Resource type term, code, and source in the Instance detail view). If there is no 336$b, no Instance term is assigned. This revised mapping allows the first 336$a to assign the Instance Type ID in the absence of 336$b
- Use the first 336$b to
- assign the Instance Type ID
- and populate the Resource type code
- and derive the Resource type term (already implemented)
- assign the Instance Type ID
- If no 336$b, use the first 336$a to
- assign the Instance Type ID
- and populate the Resource type term
- and derive the Resource type code
- assign the Instance Type ID
- If there is no 336$b and 336$a is not recognized, or does not map to a Resource type code
- then assign the Instance Type ID that represents
- Resource type term of Unspecified
- and Resource type code of zzz
- then assign the Instance Type ID that represents
