Purpose: Currently, and in support of Closed Library Due Date Management settings in Loan Policies, FOLIO operates to determine open and closed library periods for service points by querying the calendar API. However, the existing implementation limits the results of the query to regular calendar periods and does not confirm that an exceptional date/time has not been entered in FOLIO for an irregular closing for the service point.
Given that dues dates calculated in support of checkouts and renewals - or due dates altered because of request scenarios such as recall requests - FOLIO needs to ensure that exceptional closing dates/times have not been entered for the appropriate service point.
